The art of mosaic is the creation of a puzzle, fitting small pieces together to form an image that can be cold to the touch but deep and warm in its color and texture. There are infinite possible combinations of materials, colors and forms that almost change their physical properties as they become part of a unified piece of art. My first mosaic explorations were with utilitarian forms, floors and tables.  The pieces eminated from my earlier career as a weaver, developing patterns based on blocks, color and texture.
